While in the Charlottesville area for the lavender workshop, I decided to come back to Pippin Hill. I had been wanting return ever since the first time I came when I absolutely fell in love with this place.
You sit on the patio drinking wine, listening to the relaxing sounds of the water running in the nearby fountains, while looking out at the beautiful mountains. It just doesn’t get much better. Also, being a Wednesday afternoon in the summer, it was a drastically different scene than when I was here before in the fall when it was absolutely packed. This was much better.
I usually drink white wine, but it seemed like the perfect day for rosé. It was delicious.
The food here is so good. Just this simple cheese board was so perfect. The apricot jam, apple butter and fig jelly added so much flavor and the candied pecans made a great pairing with the cheese. Just delicious.
There are so many other vineyards in Charlottesville I want to try, but since I am in that area infrequently, I always want to go here. I will have to tear myself away next time.
